To solve various problems in the world, many use violence. And investing in weapons and soldiers is one of the most lucrative investments today. However, it is entirely possible to counter the problems of war, conflict or disagreement with non-violence.

And organizations like the Prem Rawat Foundation and the Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) contribute daily to this cult of non-violence. With the work of this type of organization, goals like Prem Rawat's "Peace is Possible" are becoming more and more accessible.

Deployment in conflict zones

In conflict zones, nonviolent Peaceforce acts mainly for civil protection. The term "protect" means for NP: the regular visit of people arrested in connection with armed conflicts or other situations of tension, the re-establishment of links between members of dispersed families, the search for missing persons, family reunification, the release and repatriation of prisoners of war, as well as approaches to all parties to a conflict when the rules of international humanitarian law are violated.

The dissemination of the rules of this right, in particular to the regular and irregular armed forces, remains an essential activity of the NP. The mere physical presence on the ground can, on its own, have an important preventive and protective effect.

Assistance includes material and technical assistance in the fields of preventive and curative medicine (especially in war surgery and orthopedic devices), production and distribution of drinking water, rehabilitation of infrastructure in the hospital and health sectors, the restoration of agricultural production capacities as well as survival aid, thanks to the distribution of food, clothing, tarpaulins and other relief items.

Non-violence awareness and education

The NP is also an actor known in the world for its awareness of non-violence in conflict zones and on neutral ground. Even neutral ground has a role to play in conflicts around the world. Whether by funding wars or watching them without taking part in their end and their resolution. Thus, the NP educates children like the older ones about non-violence. Beneficiaries for NP have no age or social status.

Thus, they work as much with the youngest as with local authorities. Whether through workshops, group work or other, through education and awareness, NP learns that any conflict can be resolved without violence and is resolved even better and quickly without violence.

Training of local actors for non-violence

Finally, the NP trains local actors for non-violence. Whether political leaders or teachers in schools, the NP trains people to become leaders of non-violence. Through training for women, workshops for young people or register creation, the NP trains trainers who will be able to act immediately in their community.

Thus, the NP's work has more impact and adapts according to each case. By training as many representatives as possible, the NP ensures a broader impact of their goal than non-violence. Through their training, the NP teaches its future collaborators the work of an ambassador for peace, teaches collaborators how to negotiate and talk, but above all teaches them how to make those around them aware of violence.
